📜 Divine History & Legend
According to legend, Lord Shiva took the form of Mailara (Martanda Bhairava) to defeat the demons Mallasura and Manikasura. The annual Jatra celebrates this victory. The devotees (Goravas) dress in black woolen blankets and tiger-skin attire, carrying brass bowls and damarugis, representing the army of Shiva.
